The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “I will be at my pond waiting for those who come to me. Some people will be taken away from me, and I will say, ‘O Lord, they are my followers!‘ But it will be said to me, ‘You do not know what they innovated after you.'” (Sahih al-Bukhari 7048)
